A Moroccan delegation headed by Mr Omar Hilale, Permanent Ambassador of Morocco to the United Nations in Geneva, met members of the United Nations' Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances alongside the session which had been organised by this Working Group.
The discussions between this delegation, which included representatives of the Ministries of Justice and the Interior, and the UN's Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances, resulted in clear and fruitful co-operation between the Moroccan authorities and the UN's Working Group with a view to clarifying cases which are still uncertain, according to members of the delgation.
Members of the UN's Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances thanked the Moroccan Government "for the clarification it had provided on a large number of matters", emphasising that "this attitude should serve as an example to other countries".
It should also be noted that the UN's Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances had also received a member of the Consultative Council on Human Rights the same day in a separatte meeting.
